I have been tasked with providing a high level solution design for a customer who is planning on moving from there existing server room to a data centre. I have experience with data centres but little in the field of data centre design. Can any one provide any documentation on how o get started preparing a high level document of this nature or possibly evan a template of this nature?
Don’t worry about the field, if you have few experiences about that data centre I am sure you can follow it quickly. Because of it only needs your enthusiasm.
Across the globe, many data center designs use an amazing amount of creativity in locating and deploying unique data centers. These are not your run-of-the-mill server rooms, but truly one-of-a-kind facilities that have a personality all their own. They are, of course, essential to the design and creation of a data center, however, the mechanics alone do not a data center make. The use of pure mechanics rarely creates anything that is useful, except perhaps by chance.

Exactly. It's not a problem that you should worry about. With a little help of others you can solve the task.
