Default PUE metrics for Data Center

Anyone can give me some basic things about the PUE metric based data center? I researched that this is commonly used in data centers these days. Will it be good for a telecommunication based company?

PUE is a great way to use your energy efficiently. This is a ratio of the amount of energy consumption will run in your data center’s IT and server section. Important systems such as cooling, chillers, UPS, HVAC, air pressure, air handlers, lighting etc consume energy and PUE incorporate them.
The ideal PUE of a data center would be 1.0. This shows that the 100% of energy is being consumed by the different devices in your data center. This means excluding devices like lighting/cooling and workstation.
For telecommunication company, it would be a good idea using PUE. If you are looking for saving energy then you can go for PUE.
