Default Peer 1 Network Opens Network POP in Los Angeles Due to High Demand

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- Tuesday, August 24, 2004 – Peer 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (TSX-V:PIX), a leading provider of high-performance Internet bandwidth and server co-location facilities, announced today the opening of a new network point of presence (POP) at the 1 Wilshire building in Los Angeles, California.

Peer 1 Network’s Chief Technology Officer Mark Teolis said that the new POP was in response to high demand in Los Angeles. “Our world-class network has attracted a lot of interest due to its speed and capacity as well as our 100% uptime guarantee. We rolled out two new products this summer, Global Load Balancing and a Content Delivery Network, which have focused on providing extremely high performance to meet our customers’ ‘performance sensitive’ applications. Demand for our services in LA is coming from both existing Peer 1 customers and new LA-based prospects.”

Los Angeles is a strategic location for Peer 1, as it is the major hub for Internet traffic travelling between North America and Asia. There is significant opportunity in LA for growth, both in the short-term, as well as in the long-term. “Expanding our network into LA is a natural progression and another step in building the best dedicated IP network in North America,” said Geoff Hampson, the company’s President and CEO. “With plans to further expand the network in the United States, Europe and Asia within the next 12 months, Los Angeles marks an important step. Our Los Angeles POP is already attracting major players in the Asian market, which translates into relationships on which to build when it comes time to actually move into Asia.”

Symmetric Broadband, a Peer 1 Network company that provides VoIP services across the Peer 1 Network, is already attracting business in the Los Angeles market as it leverages the Peer 1 POP.

Peer 1 Network plans to further expand its presence in Los Angeles to include a co-location facility this fall. The combination of a co-location facility and a network POP allows Peer 1 to deliver market leading 100% Internet availability.
