ASHRAE has switched from using relative humidity to absolute humidity. The new "recommended" is dew-point between 41.9 degrees F and 51F. Anyone know what the new "acceptable" range is for dew-point?
Looking at the old ASHRAE recommendations, the dew-points for "recommended" would have been between 51.2F (55%@68F) and 50.8F (40%@77F). The dew-points for the "acceptable" would have been between 52.8F (80%@59F) and 43.5F (20% at 90F).
So the top of the new "recommended" dew-point range (51F) is right in the middle of possible dew-points in the "recommended" range under the old system; but the bottom of the new system (41.9F) is even below the minimum dew-point possible within the "acceptable" range of the old system! Anyone know what the dew-point range is for "acceptable"?
