A data center I won't name, I used to have to turn over my state id in order to receive my data center ID that would open the cage we rented. I also had to go through a pretty extensive man trap and several check points.
This is pretty standard in any high class facility. It might be annoying at times, but I would want nothing less to protect our (and our customer's) equipment physically.
The actual physical security is essential too. I know many facilities which have a lot of hoops a individual has to go through to get into their websites. Some just do not allow anyone to see their real installation.
PTS Physical Security Solutions offers a turnkey solution to address all your physical security needs. Utilizing cutting edge technologies offered by our partners, PTS offers the following solutions:
Video Surveillance
Door Access Control
Central Management Platform
When discussing about data center security, normally we refer to keeping the data center from malware, viruses and other cyber attacks. What about its physical security? I think it also plays an important role with data centers.
I realize this is an old post. Just want to ask about physical security of data. Wouldn't this refer to the business continuity practice of a company? Whether or not a company is disaster ready, whether it is man-made or a force of nature?
