Default The best way to store...?

When considering storage options, what is the best option these days? Is it best to have access via a cloud, as well as a physical storage, such as a usb stick or external hard drive?

This depends on your requirements. If it's your personal data a small external HDD can work for you. However, if you have a lot of important files you might want to consider storing your data on the cloud. When data is stored on the cloud you can access your data anywhere in the world.

for a few important documents you can store them on a USB Flash drive. Just understand that Flash drives fail. Their controllers can get corrupted and you'll not be able to access your data. Recovery on such drive is rather expensive.

How much data do you want to store? Do you have archives or other data that you need to store? Furthermore, are you looking to store your system backups? All these questions are important when considering data storage. If you don't have massive amount of data to store you can either store your data on the cloud or on stand alone hard drives.
