Default Director, IT Services (Toronto)

As Director, Information Technology Services, this individual will lead network services, architecture, infrastructure management, vendor relationships and manage a portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will establish an independent technology centre responsible for the strategic planning, execution and delivery of IT services to the company's global operations.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director, IT Services will have 10+ years of progressive experience including at least 5 years in an executive level IT position. In addition, they will have demonstrated experience in consulting and providing IT services to a company with global reach.

Responsibilities:

- Review and audit the current technology services and infrastructure environment to ensure operational integrity, risk management security, business continuity planning etc.
- Provide leadership and support business transformation strategies through excellence in technology service planning and delivery. You will support business transformation, communicate and motivate people to action, build successful relationships with clients, stakeholders and external partners.
- Assess the need for a regionalization for datacentre solutions including shared services model
- Enhance/refine team to support the key objectives of planning and delivery of information technology service management
- Improve processes service delivery, operational optimization and product/application release and change management
- Review cost of delivery and build metrics to measure and monitor service delivery
- Implement transformation of service delivery and ensure structures are in place, improve plans and service level agreements

Information Services and Technology Strategy
- IT Strategic, operational plans and budgeting
- Risk management and IT governance
- Manage technology infrastructure services and support to ensure alignment with client needs
- Build and lead a team/resources that is structured on best practices for service delivery excellence
- Oversee and negotiate service level agreements, technology integration, performance measurement, risk management, issues management and service lifecycle management
- Architect, plan service delivery and network infrastructure - align with industry best practices, ensure disaster recovery plans and privacy and security protocols and administration are in place
- As a key member of the management team, participate in strategic planning, decision making

Oversee Integrated Design and Solutions
- Enterprise architecture
- Detailed analysis, design, development and testing
- Integration between all applications, including middleware - management, change management and services delivery

Requirements include:


- University degree (computer science, business or related) and ideally a Master's level degree complimented by technology and business education and programs.
- Demonstrated Management in a complex IT environment: strong knowledge of IT, telecommunications and network/infrastructure planning and services as it relates to architecture, service delivery (data and help desk management), technology integration, deployment, change and release management processes. Exposure to the application development lifecycle, and systems integration of packaged solutions.
- Experience managing technology vendor relationships, outsourcing and related agreements.
- Project Management experience.
- Demonstrated Strategic Leadership: planning the future with practical and pragmatic plans and strategies to align with current and future IT Services needs.
- Excellent Team Building: known for the ability to build, lead, inspire and motivate teams and develop staff.
- Preference given to applicants with prior experience leading a team of professionals, in a financial services or legal environment.
