There is no specific answer for your question. There many tasks, it all depends on the companies.

Her are some of the responsibilities.

-Network Switch/Router configuration
-Building servers
-Rack Configuration
-VOIP router configuration
-SAN configuration

There are many things can be be done in Datacenters.

Not to mention all the physical infrastructure such as:
  • UPS
  • generator
  • Mains Power
  • Cooling infrastructure
  • Cooling units in the datacenter
  • piping (leakage etc)
  • monitoring and surveillance

....and many more things!

HHSS is right. There are many functionalities in datacenter. We can help you out, if you provide the specific section.

Thanks,
David K.

This thread gave me an insight to the datacenter. I want to know what is leakage given there. I cannot understand what will leak? Do you mean the security systems available or is it a general leaking?

The leakage is refered to the cooling infrastructure. Whatever type of cooling you use, there will be some sort of fluid involved, so in case of a leakage, you risk having fluids near you precious equipment. therefore leakage detection is a must.
hope that clears is out for you :-)

leakage could also include battery leaks. when the backup batteries get overcharged, they tend to leak and it could be toxic. we are talking acid and hydrogen gas. practically inflammable. but i guess that comes under data center maintenance
