Question Generator Settings

This is more about the backup power systems instead of the actual data center but since they are all required I figured that this would be ok here.

The setting i am specifically talking about the block heater temp. Currently we are set at 125f. But I was talking to the maintenance tech that was doing our preventive maintenance check and he told me we could lower that setpoint.

The benefit would be a lower cost on our electricity bill and possibly longer lifespan on the thermostat and heater coils.

The downside would be that it takes longer for the generator to start or may not start at all.

We are in the middle of Texas so the temps are usually pretty warm and generally don't get lower than freezing for very long. I was thinking of lowering the temp to around 100f.

Any input you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
