One of the most important tools to have is definitely a labeller, some cable ties and sound round nosed pliers - I carry these in my laptop bag like a religion as you can pretty much do anything anywhere. This is along with a screwdriver with adjustable heads, but for planned works I prefer to have my box of screwdrivers with me to cover all occasions.

Always carry some spare cables, and with your laptop make sure you have a USB to serial converter if it's relatively new, chances is are it won't have a serial port!

A good floor tile lifter is very good as well, if you're working in different facilities you probably want both types - those that are suction based for smooth floors, and those that are spiked for the older carpet tiled data centres (they still exist unfortunately!)
