Most of the data center utilizes the industry leading Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm (VESDA) system for the detection of smoke and fire. VESDA works by continually drawing air into the system's pipe network via a highly efficiency aspirator.

A sample of the air is then passed through a dual stage filtering system. From the filter, the sample goes to a calibration detection chamber laser light source. When smoke is detected, it communicates this information to a fire alarm control panel via a software management system to the local data center and then notified to NOC.
