Most of the web hosting providers offer both Windows and Linux servers. It depends on which platform you want to develop your website.

These two hosting offers the same level of proficiency. So the hosting service you select significantly depends on technologies that your website needs. Linux servers are compatible with PHP and MySQL databases. On the other hand, Windows-specific technologies such as ASP, .NET, and MSSQL compatible with Windows servers.

Linux is an open-source system. So most of the sites are now hosted on Linux Server due to its affordable price and flexibility. Linux servers and software can be easily modified, and you don't have to wait for a new version.

Windows servers and software generally have more features than open-source. These frameworks, such as ASP and ASP.Net, are easier to install and operate and have better support than Linux scripting frameworks.

Both have advantages and disadvantages so you can select according to your requirements.
