Servers & OS High Availability Architect DataCentre Disaster Recovery
 

The Server and High Availability Architect will oversee the Strategy, Architecture, Solutioning of the Disaster Recovery Infrastructure for Intel Platform Servers Running Microsoft Operating systems, and UNIX systems, the instances for application and file server platforms functions in all locations supported.

The Server and High Availability Architect will be responsible for:
• Oversight of Intel/Microsoft Servers including Virtualized instances of servers and their host platforms where applicable
• Planning for Wintel and UNIX system development and planning
• Documentation Wintel and UNIX system configurations and status
• Coordination with Storage Architect on Architecture, System Strategy and Capacity Management activities to provide storage capabilities
• Acting as Point of Contact (POC) for all Wintel and UNIX Server related activities during the engagement
• Coordinating on-site Wintel and UNIX Server implementation, maintenance and support activities during the implementation of the DR solution
• Identifying and documenting critical issues in advance of failure and escalates as appropriate
• Coordinating documentation of Wintel and UNIX Server requirements and configuration changes
• Coordinating client Wintel and Open Systems Team activities in account
• Coordinates with Enterprise level architecture groups and confirms to client Global Architecture Guidance

• Knowledge of VMware and the operation and monitoring tools required to run virtualized systems is preferable
• Knowledge of Citrix remote access products and the operation and monitoring tools required to run Citrix environments is preferable

The candidate is expected to have
• A least 6-10 years of technology experience
• Several years of experience working with Windows and UNIX.
• Relevant certification on at least one of the operating systems in scope.
