Upgrading Datacenter

We have a tier 1 datacenter which we want to upgrade into tier 2 or maybe tier 3/ Which one would be easy and less costly to upgrade and it would be helpful if anyone describe the upgrade process.

Hello,
If you want suggestion then you need to inform more about the datacenter you have. There are lots of facts that you need to consider. First of all, changing the tier of your datacenter needs a complete shutdown of the whole system. If you dont have any problem with that then you can proceed.
Even if you proceed, you may face some problem. Upgrading may not be successful because you have to unplug everything and then put it on. It may not refit.
Upgrading is a huge step which can be a problem. Make sure you really need the upgrade. This site can give you the step to step upgrading process: http://www.cablinginstall.com/data-center.html

Tier 1 vs Tier 2 vs Tier 3 Datacenter

I agree with Wilson that Changing Tier level of Datacenter is major revamp. It is major change and may require complete shutdown. A detailed analysis of current environment can prepare snapshot to you about single point of failures and to enhance it beyond Tier 1, you need to bring redundancies and resiliency.

To Start with, Build Service Zones for current environment and build redundancy for network, storage, power, connectivity.
