floor loading and raised floors

I'm putting some battery cabinets on a raised floor. The raised floor is good, but the deck beneath is insufficient to support that much weight in one place; so the weight needs to be distributed.

If it were up to me, I'd run a longer I-beam under each row of raised floor tiles, and support the beam with one screw jack beneath every tile. A firm that does datacenter environmental modifications provided a quote to do something similar, and it seemed very high. I had the beams under my house replaced with I-beams for a third of what they quoted.

Should I be looking at a specialized company, or some kind of general contractor to do bracing and load distribution from a raised floor to the deck beneath?

I would think about contacting a structural engineer. The battery weight issue is very common in data centers. A good structural engineer can develop a detailed scope of work for reinforcing the floor. Once you have this document you won't need to rely on the advice and counsel of the contractor that is doing the job. You can send the scope of work to a number of contractors and choose the one that comes back with the best offer.
