Security on cisco switches
How does cisco routers prevent from Dos attack?, Do they have inetral firewall?.
Thanks Mark |
You can block ip address/ranges and ports using access lists on a router.
Cisco have there own firewall called PIX that runs on dedicated hardware. |
I have a similar question, can it autamatically detect if there is a Dos Attack or we have to find the IP and block manually.

I think that would be down to your network monitoring tools to highlight those issues for normal routers.
Here's a cisco doc on dos attacks http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/4.html |
Cisco PIX firewalls can automatically detect DOS attacks and deny them. But in the case of a router you need to have the ACLs in place to be safe

Does anyone know of any Collocation firms for sale?
Or a list available for contacts?
We are an investment bank looking to invest in and or acquire such firms. Regards Bill Stewart Brampton Capital wstewart@bramptoncapital.com 704-449-4697 |
