Air Conditioning Style
Hi,
Wonder if someone could recommend to me what style of delivery of air conditioning would be best. We have two options being recommended to us from different suppliers: 1) Denco underfloor system - this will be a floor standing unit that blows air under the floor and up through grills/into racks. 2) Ducted unit around the top of the room. Air fed into room at various points via diffusers. Obviously each supplier is recommending their own solution over the other suppliers, however I am looking to find out the pro's and con's of either option. Approximate size of room is about 1000 sqft. Many thanks for any help in this matter. Dave |
Depends, how much space do you have under the floor? How much space do you have above your racks? Are you using that space for fiber or power? Are you using racks or enclosures? Blade servers?

Above our racks we have about 30cm to ceiling. Many thanks |
With such a small subfloor plenum, you should probably go with the overhead duct (although it seems like you don't have much room there, either).

Just wondered which method was 'best' and preferred in the industry? Cheers, Dave |
