What software are you using for Backups? What Hardware do you have for data? Do you have the ability to do DDT? How much data are you trying to backup? Over how many servers?

We are using Netbackup, over 1,000 servers Windows, Linux, Unix - We are using SANS and NetApp filers for our data, rough guessamate 35 TB, looking at comm vault and EV - any thoughts?

Sounds like you need a high end tape system that can do backups at around 100 TB an hour. They are rather expensive, last I checked about $50,000 but they would solve your problems for quite a long time.

That is a decent amount of data. Here is my recommended formula for success.

Quantum Scalar i2000 + EMC Networker = Profit

How many drives do you have in your current solution and what are you using for a tape library?

Did you ever find your solution Cymru? I would be interested in knowning what product you finally decided upon to handle this job and what you had to shell out for it.
