Predictive Failure Analysis
 

IBM servers comes with predictive failure analysis where you get the info about the component which needs maintainance. Is this technique (or similar technique) is also available in other servers?

Dell has Open Manage that alerts on issues with hardware. It has been a while but I believe HP's software is called Client Manager.

Most all server companies offer some type of program that does this service. The key is intergrating it when you are running more than one type of server. we need a open source application that works with all servers to do this function.
