5 Reasons Cloud Computing is Enterprise Ready

Cloud Adoption Is Growing In the Enterprise and here is how it can benefit your IT strategy:)

1) Do more with less.
Eight out of ten data center owners have built or upgraded data center facilities in the last 5 years. However, 36% still expect to run out of capacity this year. Despite the growth of cloud adoption, only about 20% plan on implementing cloud to extend data center capacity. Between managing the big data, the demand for new apps, and maintaining day-to-day operations, cloud gives IT an alternative to chasing servers. Being able to move faster without sinking cloud gives enterprises a competitive edge.
Top three reasons for using or contemplating a move to the cloud include:
• 61% Scalability / Flexibility
• 25% Reduce Data Center Footprint
• 9% Running out of Data Center Space

2) It’s no Longer All or Nothing
Some workloads fit with the cloud model and some don’t. Due to this hybrid cloud solutions are available to integrate internal or dedicated resources with cloud resources. Hybrid cloud approach lets businesses migrate workloads to the cloud while maintaining communication with existing infrastructure. It also enables businesses to move resource-intensive workloads to the cloud and keep compliance- or security-sensitive workloads on dedicated or on-premises hardware.

3) Better Resource Management.

Average enterprise data center uptime was at 98.5% about six days a year while the industry standard uptime with most cloud providers starts at 99.99% or about an hour a year. The cloud saves nearly a week of downtime each year.
As far as the question of security rises as per sources internally hosted assets represented 80% of data breaches while externally hosted assets were only responsible for 26% of breaches.

4) To combat rogue IT.
Most IT decision makers know that business units are already skipping over IT to acquire cloud-based systems like file storage, marketing campaign management, and collaboration. It may offer a quicker time to market, and create security and compatibility issues down the line in case of migration apps or app data back into the enterprise.
Cloud gives IT the ability to align with business units for key initiatives and escape resource, budget, and talent restraints to deliver the services users need in a strategically and securely.

5) For more flexibility.
You can use open source software for freedom and flexibility and access compute power on demand from open cloud clouds built on open standards. With today’s cloud models, your cloud can be public, private, virtualized dedicated servers or all of the above.

The cloud gives businesses a proven competitive edge, with equal or better security, a growing stack of reliable open source software, and flexible deployment options. The above reasons have made CIOs to embrace the value of cloud to complement and extend the existing infrastructure.

Hi,

I have read this entire post here and I also agree on all the five points which you have shared here. Cloud Computing is the future of the internet and it's already proven by the speed, security reliability and much more.

Cheers!
