wireless router question

Can we able to re broadcast via one router to another. We bought a router and it can distribute signal about 20 meeters, but we wanted to send signal about 40 meters. Can we put another router in the middle and re broadcast?.

Any Idea would be good.

I am not sure how easy this is but I THINK you can get hardware that bridge a connection between a wireless access point and a wired network. Theoretically all you need to is connect one these peices of hardware to a router probably using a crossover, however I would suggest if possible to have the second router running on a different channel to the first.

i'm curious about what brand of hardware you're using... chances are they offer what was mentioned before... a bridge that will simply repeat the signalling and extend the range... but you could also consider amplifying the signal... this relieves you of having another device out there.

Another option depending on the router is that you can tweak the power output and also add a larger external antenna.

I'm not sure wireless router to wireless router is possible. You could opt for a wireless repeater instead. I'm curious about that router you got. The average router range should go over 40 meters. You might want working on the problem the other way. You could try an external antenna for your PC through a USB network adapter.

I dont think this would help you extend the range. I think you would need a router with better range or some amplifier to extend the range.

I am not sure how much it works, but I do know that a router can connect about 35 to 40m connection. If not you might have to go for anyother external hardware which connects two routers, so no other i way if I suppose.

I have read where there is a bridge that can increase the distance of the signal and I'm going to need one myself. My signal carries to the furthest computer, but that computer has a really slow internet. I just haven't had time to research it. I also have read about the larger antennae. There are a few ways to go.

use a directional antenna. avoid omni. make sure there is no other radios operating in the same freq.
