Has anyone used the Cablexpress Copper Patch panels. I am looking for a good quality and priced patch panel to use in out conversion to Structured cabling.

Or can anyone suggest another patch panel that is good quality and decently priced.

Thank You!

Are you looking for a solution that is fully loaded and cabled day one, that is x cables to each rack and a centralized patch panel. Alternatively are you looking for cabling on demand, that is blank panels or space for patch in each rack and space for centralized patch?

How many patch panels are you talking about? What business are you in?

We are looking for Fully loaded patch panels right out of the gate. Going back to a central rack.

We are looking at about 8 racks with a 48 port patch panel in each rack. We are in the moving and storage business, this is for the server room at our corporate office.

As this is a small installation it doesn’t matter which system you use, although I personally don’t like the fully populated punch down panels (110 or Krone). The connector crimp systems have always been reliable and if a repair is required its less disruptive than punch down.

Hope This Helps.

I have no experience with CableExpress, so I can't say if they are good or not. I do agree with raid that connectorized distribution is easier to change, if necessary, and can be as reliable as punch-down as long as the right components are used. We have had great success with Panduit couplers and V-shaped patch panels (which eliminate the need for horizontal cable managers). Because this setup is easy to change, it is very important to label everything clearly and make sure to update labels as changes are made.

I never thought of that, I think we will be going with the connector avenue. Seems very flexible and easy to swap if there are issues. Thank you for the input everyone!

I will let you know how it goes. We just entered out busy season for it will not be until fall before I can start to cut everything over to the new cabling but hopefully I can get it all wired up before then.
