Is anybody working on virtualization with VMware ??
Would like to share information and explore the experience with different research on it.

I need more information on how to share the IP address between different colocations sites, if it is at all possible with VMware Vcenter server.

And how do I transfer data between different datastores one-to-one?

Does anyone have a strategy to configure hardware failover in Vcenter ?
:)

IP Failover is about network mechanism not virtualization platform mechanism.
I always suggest to implement some Anycast solution where you can publish the same IP at different location at the same time or publish the IPs upon failover event.

Once you have setted-up some ip network dailover mechanism, you can do everything you wish on VMware platform.

P.S. We use Virtual Center and ESX3.5 or ESX4 with tens of physical hosts on multiple location in europe with those kind of failover solution.

What you looking to do is more of a DR setup. We have data centers connected via 10G and 1G in which you can use inherent vmware featuresto manage the two data centers as one with HA between the sites. If super fast connections are not available Vmware has built in DR features for replication and turn up, the external IP's would need to be handled by BGP or some mechanism with the internal IP schemese intact by your Vlan configuration. Hope this helps a litt.e
