Located in Fremont, CA, the facility will support high-density applications such as blade servers; the data center will be ready in four months.

Hurricane Electric (http://www.he.net/), a provider of colocation, dedicated servers, and web hosting services, today announced that it will open a new colocation facility in Silicon Valley.

Hurricane Electric's new building is located in Fremont, CA, less than two miles from its existing Fremont Colocation Facility. The new 208,000 square foot facility will complement three other colocation facilities in San Jose, CA, Fremont, CA and New York, NY and is more than four times the size of the existing Fremont data center. Additionally, it will be able to support high-density applications such as blade servers and will be ready in four months, claims the company.

"We have experienced tremendous growth over the past few years that has necessitated the opening of another data center. With its size and proximity to so many major networks, the new Fremont facility will give us the room to grow in the long run and become a significant global epicenter of Internet traffic," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric.
