I am needing OC3 connectivity in Chicago specifically at 2101 Roberts or 600 S Federal, both WCG locations. Looking for commit levels between 20 and 60 Meg, we will be responsible for loops and cross connects.

Great that would be appreciated, we are looking for a commit around 20 to 50 meg and budgeting around $1000 to start, our time frame is about a month, it would be nice if someone has a list of carriers at 600 S Federal, so far I have found:

WCG Communications
360 Networks
Dominion Telecom
Looking Glass Networks
MCI
RCN Communications

We have Wiltel already, we would be interesting in MCI, we have a datacenter and most bandwidth would be upsteam, we also have a few wireless providers for downstream use.

I can do a L3 mix for $40/mbps for 50 mbps delivered via ethernet at 600 S Federal

if you were able to do a loop to Equinix (350 Cermak), you would have a lot more options on providers. most BW providers would build the cross connect charge in the MRC as well.

not sure if that helps or not (hope it does)

We could hit your OC-3 bandwidth and price requirements out these locations in Chicago if you can get there with a loop.

Savvis:

350 E. Cermak, 5th floor, Chicago, IL 60616

or

427 South LaSalle St. Room 209

I can Provide you this connection out of 350 Cermack if you are providing your loops and cross connects. For 20meg commit it would be $25per meg. With a 60meg commit it would be $17 meg. Let me know if I can help.

Would you be able/willing to accept a FastE handoff instead of an OC3 or it needs to be OC3?

That is what happens when I don't check the year of the post.... :-)

Guess I'm just used to being part of a community that actually gets some traffic.... :-)

We are actually still looking, last year we did add another carrier, however we are still wanting to get into 350 east cermak. Ideally we would like to bring in a local loop into the building and colocate a router with someone there. Unfortunatly the loop costs have gone up since last year, thanks to Level3, does anyone know of a good carrier in the Illinois/Indiana area?

Perhaps I am missing something, but why dont you purchase bandwdith at 600 s federal?
Cheaper to pick up Level3 bandwidth there, then to get an OC3 over to 350 S Cermak and pick up bandwidth there.

Also, why an OC3 when a 100 meg fastE transport is soooo much cheaper?

Because we are located in South Bend, Indiana and cross connected with Level3 at their location here, which is a repeater location and they do not have ethernet products here, I would love to work with ethernet vs. SONET if only I could get it.
