Networking Spe############t to work on a 6 month contract reporting to the Manager, Networking Services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level network support through interaction with both the internal user community and external software vendors. The candidate of choice will need to log and track network related issues, if and when they occur, and work with vendors in finding/testing solutions.
• Maintain documentation for installation and configuration on various aspects of the network, and any other task that falls under the area.
• Responsible for maintaining all server related backups. OS snapshots as well as Data backups and documenting accordingly.
• Responsible for keeping track of patches and upgrades when they become available for the various servers hardware, operating systems and server applications. This would be followed up with appropriate testing and roll out.
• In addition to these day-to-day responsibilities, this individual will work as a member of the Network Services Team and provide backup support for others on the team in the event of absenteeism. This will require the individual to come up to speed quickly on systems that are not part of their day-to-day responsibility.
• This position requires the individual to carry a paging communication device and be involved in rotational after-hours support.

Qualifications or Skills Required:
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the I.T. field (preferably in a network support role with troubleshooting experience).
• Must have advanced knowledge in Microsoft Windows 2003 including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Citrix Presentation Server, VMware ESX 3.5.
• Experience with SQL 2005, including writing and executing SQL scripts.
• Experience with login scripts, xml, vbscript and other scripting languages.
• Experience with Backup Hardware and Software, including Backup Exec 11+, HP Ultrium Tape Backup Devices and Symantec System Recovery.
• Thorough understanding of LAN concepts, operations and security policies.
• Experience with HP Proliant DL Servers, HP Procurve switches and HP SAN systems.
• Experience with Interwoven Worksite, Blackberry Enterprise Server and blackberry devices and Symantec Anti Virus, would be a plus.
• Must have the ability to demonstrate strong initiative in problem solving scenarios and strong customer service skills.
• Must have appropriate respect of the procedures of working within a production environment (clear understanding of "test" vs. "production" environment).
• Successful completion of a post secondary IT program involving network support and troubleshooting is required (or equivalent work experience).
• Candidates must be resourceful and have superior organizational, time-management, communication and problem solving skills.
