is there another way of wiring up a 24/48 cat5e patch panel without the use of 48 strand cat5e? i was speaking to a corning rep and he said they have some copper technology that will allow me run 24/48 port patch without punching down 48 strand? the only stuff i could find online was getting a modular patch panel and using couplers.

does anyone know of anything that does not require running 24-48 cat5e single cables and does not require punching down 48strand cables?

Pre-terminated copper is available from several manufacturers. Panduit QuickNet, AMP MRJ21 NetConnect, and Hellermann Tyton RapidNet. Corning's Plug & Play bundles look a little less flexible than Leviton/Belkin Copper Trunks. Perhaps the rep meant something like this. Ask him for more details -- and let us know.
